As the Detroit Auto Show continues, American auto makers are taking turns one-upping each other with new vehicles and unexpected concept cars built around the goals of fuel efficiency and eco-chic. Chrysler LLD surprised reporters attending the 2009 show with an all-electric concept car called the 200C EV.
The 200c EV focuses on efficiency while retaining the popular design elements of Chrysler’s popular gasoline-powered Chrysler 300. “The Chrysler 200C EV embodies our passion for problem solving by combining the best of engineering and automotive design,” said Ralph Gilles, Chrysler vice president of design. “With the 200C EV, we were able to maximize the effectiveness of the ENVI power train with the stunning, wind-cheating vehicle shape, while pushing toward the future with the avant-garde interior and advanced in-vehicle connectivity.” The four-seat sedan does 0-60 in 7 seconds, which is pretty good for an electric vehicle, but is nowhere near production at this time.

I am thrilled by this concept handsome, bold and strong look, it’s filled with killer instincts. Been waiting for a car like this for a long, long time and hope I don’t have to wait much longer. I held on to my 99 silver Stratus because I was never excited about any other car till now. The 200C has changed all that and the little bit of adrenaline in me is pumping.
Chrysler, please do not mess up the design, it looks so rich and hot, in the production version. Do whatever it takes to make this work as is for production. You have hit the nail on its head with this one and it will certainly sell like hot bread. Bring this to the showrooms now and sales will skyrocket. There is no other car like it. But make sure it’s affordable with most of the popular features as standard or affordable upgrades.
I will go crazy in the meantime. So pretty soon there will be a mad driver behind the super sleek 200C. Even the concept platinum/graphite silver metallic color is my favorite.
