See that nice looking yellow car there? That is the LF-Ch concept car from Lexus, on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The general manager of Lexus, Mark Templin, has stated that Lexus is “seriously considering bringing a production version of the hatchback to the U.S. market”. Well, we will see what develops from this.

In what has been tagged as the most expensive car ever to come out of, the Lexus LFA Supercar took the Tokyo Motor Show by storm and dwarfing other car manufacturers on hand. The Lexus LFA is a limited edition supercar that will retail for a whopping $375,000. It features a lightweight carbon-fiber reinforced polymer body as well as suspensions made of lightweight-aluminum alloy. It also has carbon-ceramic breaks which all comprise its even allocated weight distribution of 48:52.

Other highlights of the Lexus LFA include a 4.8 liter V-10 engine paired with a 6-speed transmission which be sufficient for its boasted top speed of 202 MPH. Production for the limited edition Lexus LFA supercar will start December 10, 2010. Orders are now being taken at the Lexus LFA website.

As you can see, someone has made the Lexus LF-A made of acrylic glass. It was designed for the Milan Design Week exhibition in April at the Milan’s Museo dela Permanente art gallery. It also looks cool with some lighting effects at the Tokyo Motor Show.

Lexus has today released the pricing scheme for their brand new 2010 LS and GS models. Now, none of these vehicles go on sale until the end of this month but they are by no means cheap so you better start saving.

How dangerous is a floor mat when it comes to associating it with car accidents? Well as far as Toyota is concerned, the current recall in the car mats that they package with their Toyota Lexus is still a puzzle. A fatal car crash which claimed four lives in Southern California last month has forced the arm of Toyota to order its dealers to make prior inspection of car mats in the light of this unfortunate tragedy.

It seems that the car mat caused the Toyota Lexus to get out of control, forcing it to crash into another vehicle, turn over and burst into flames. But to this day, no one knows if these car mats were truly the culprit but just the same, Toyota has taken the initiative for this tragedy.

Some tips to drivers when it comes to car mats though. Avoid the thick mats to be used in cars. Do not place more than one mat since this may become a reason for your accelerator to get stuck. Check out your car now. This could make all the difference between life and death on your end.

It seems that new cars are coming out with new features as well. And as far as the Lexus is concerned, it is making sure that one of the popular handsets in use today doesn’t go unnoticed. In fact, they have come up with a concept headrest for the iPhone, an iPhone dock that should come in handy for people who have to embark on long journeys on a luxury car such as the Lexus LF-Ch.

Now this may be a concept but it certainly does make sense. Now if you don’t have an iPhone yet, surely you can afford one if you can own a high-end luxury car as a Lexus right?

Back towards the beginning of the most Lexus released a render of their LF-Ch hybrid vehicle that is said to make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Other than the render we had nothing to go by except for the quote “Think BMW 1 Series, but hybrid.” Well, Lexus has again taken center stage to speak of the LF-Ch and this time we have a bit more details.

First of all, the LF-Ch is said to feature the same engine as the HS 250h along with a 6-speed automatic transmission. On the inside, there is said to be aluminum/wood trim, iPhone docks, ambient light coming from the headlinders and Lexus’ Remote Touch controls as featured on the RX 450h.

Just like the R8 Spyder, we don’t have many details, so we are again going to have to wait until the Frankfurt Motor Show.

In leiu of their recently announced U.S. Open sponsorship Lexus has created the above special edition IS 350. You may ask yourself what is so special about it other than the branding; it’s covered in tennis ball fuzz.

That’s right, this car’s exterior has the same feel as a tennis ball making it the perfect creation to celebrate the automaker’s sponsorship. The IS350 itself was actually put on display last weekend during the U.S. Open celebrations.

Unfortunately, the chances of you tennis nuts out there ever getting your hands on this car are slim to none.

The ministers’ response?  We can’t–that would cost MORE!

Okay, I know this requires a little background in order to make sense.  Seems that the government of South Africa is having a bit of trouble with some ministers who bought really expensive cars for “official use”.  And now, the ruling body of South Africa wants those cars returned.  But the ministers say that doing such a thing would actually cost taxpayers MORE, because taking the new car back, grappling with the depreciation issues and then buying a NEW car would, well, just be a waste.

But COSATU isn’t taking this incredibly selfish line of reasoning lying down–their response:

“If ministers are allowed to purchase expensive cars at taxpayers’ expense, it gives the impression that they do not care about the message this opulence gives to the poor. Spending so much money on vehicles is a slap in the face of the unemployed and people living in shantytowns…it gives politics a bad name and encourages the view that government office is a stepping stone to quick and easy personal wealth.”

The obvious way to go, of course.  Hopefully they can get this problem settled before the people start wondering why their taxes are going to fancy cars for government officials….

The Frankfurt Motor Show is right around the corner where Lexus is expected to debut their LF-Ch concept, but that doesn’t mean they can’t jump the gun and release a concept render, of the concept, right? Well, that’s exactly what they did, which we’ve included for you above.

Unfortunately, until Frankfurt rolls around all we have to go by now is the render and the knowledge that it’s a hybrid. Although, buried in the press release Lexus says “Think BMW 1 Series, but hybrid”. So BMW, it looks like come Frankfurt you’re going to have a hefty competitor, or so Lexus hopes.

If you were anxiously awaiting to get your hands on Lexus’ latest HS 250h hybrid vehicle, you’re in for some bad news. Recent reports suggest that the HS 250h hasn’t been able to keep up with the demand as over 10,000 orders were filed in Japan on the first month. In comparison, Toyota estimated they would see 500 sales per month of the 250h, boy were they wrong.

This reportedly resulted in a severe supply shortage that could possibly delay the North American release next month. Considering there has yet to be an official announcement regarding a delay, we’ll just assume the Lexus HS 250h is still set to hit dealerships next month.

Lexus has unveiled a new teaser today for their forthcoming premium compact car concept set to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. According to the automaker, the concept car “will demonstrate a mix of technical innovation and ground-breaking design that promises to raise the bar in the premium compact segment.”

From the looks of the illustration, it’s a compact hatchback. But, teasers should only be taken seriously for face value.

The Frankfurt Motor Show will be held this year on September 15th.

Back in May we first notified you of what would go on to be Lexus’s supercar entitled the LF-A. Well, recent reports are suggesting that the LF-A moniker will be changed to LF-L. News comes to us from Holiday Auto who says the car will be changed to LF-L to show consumers that it will be making its debut at Le Mans in the coming years. Specs remain the same in the sense that the car will feature a 4.8l V10 engine with a 6-speed transmission.

Would it really anger any of you (or cause any other emotion) if Lexus does go ahead and change the LF-A’s name to LF-L? I didn’t think so.

What are police departments in the UK supposed to do when they have some extra cash left over in their budget? Well, update their fleet, of course!

That’s what one department did in Humberside, at least. And they didn’t just update their fleet with any old car, but instead the $88,000 Lexus IS-F. That’s right, there are now Lexus IS-F police cruisers patrolling the streets of the UK. Below is a quote from said police department:

Humberside Police have taken delivery of a Lexus IS-F in order to make life more difficult than ever for those looking to travel to the region to commit crime.

It looks like it’s going to take a lot more than just an ordinary car to outrun these guys now that they have a bit more horsepower at their disposal.
