After teasing us for a while, Hyundai has finally unveiled the Hybrid i-Flow, which is actually a diesel-hybrid car. The i-Flow has a turbocharged 1.7-liter diesel engine coupled with dual electric motors. According to Hyndai, the car has a gas mileage that averages 78.4 miles per gallon and CO2 emissions of 85 grams/kilometer — both very, very impressive numbers.

And thus, we get a first look at the 2011 Hyundai Sonata, thanks to the folks out at Motor Trend.

The new Hyundai Sonata is being described as part of a larger overall master plan by Hyundai to conquer the midsize family sedan market, and it’s true, the Sonata really DOES look like a great family car.  But it’s not just a great family car, it actually offers some pretty exciting performance numbers.

It’s got the only gas-directed engine in its class, and the greatest amount of interior room, so if you’re interested in checking out one of the most interesting sedans in its class, just grab a quick look at the video and prepare to be thoroughly amazed.

According to a recent report, Hyundai is increasing its production of the Tucson minivan/SUV/CUV (call it what ever you want) after demand for the vehicle has grown quite a lot lately — a 128-percent increase in sales in January, and an even larger increase in the moth before.

The 2011 Hyundai Sonata was unveiled last year and is a much anticipated car, and the Korean car maker has now revealed that a Turbo version is planned as well, which will have a turbocharged and direct-injected engine producing north of 250HP, and a hybrid version as well. Both versions will be unveiled at the New York Auto Show later this year.

Hyundai is set to unveil its i-Flow concept car at the Geneva Auto Show, and as expected, they’ve teased us with a rendering of the car. Besides the good looks, we really don’t know much about it, other than we expect it to a a decent hybrid. But we can only guess at this point.

Hyundai, one of Korea’s biggest companies, has its chairman in legal trouble for the past few years. Hyundai chairman Chung Mong Koo was convicted of embezzlement and breach of conduct, and while he was able to stay out of prison and even keep his job, the court in Seoul has ordered him to pay Hyundai 70 billion won ($60 million) for what he did. Ouch.

Volkswagen: Did you ever play “Slugbug”, where you hit someone if you see a VW bug? Well, the ad will focus on that.

Hyndai has announced the prices for the 2011 edition of the Sonata, which will start at $19,195 + $720 for delivery for the GLS sedan with a six-speed manual transmission. As some Sonata owners may have noticed, that’s about $500 more than the 2010 version, however, the 2011 does pack quite a few extra features.

And when the guy driving the car says that it pretty much requires you to forgive a company all their past mistakes, well, that’s the kind of thing that just makes your eyes pop.

Today we’re watching the Hyundai Genesis Coupe go tearing around the test track, and it’s absolutely amazing.  It does zero to sixty in a surprisingly fleet 5.8 seconds.

You’ll pay for this kind of power, though, shelling out thirty grand new or twenty three used for it (prices are in US dollars), so if you’re interested in this sucker, better save up or have a good credit score.

But watching that Hyundai Genesis tear around that track, with that kind of horsepower, makes me very surprised, and keeps the Hyundai in the “well worth watching” category.

Piracy is nothing new, it’s been rising steadily outside the coast of Somalia for a few years, and this time, they took over a ship named “Asian Glory”, headed from South Korea to Saudi Arabia with a cargo of 2,300 new Hyundai cars. There are no reports of injuries and the Somali pirates are now waiting for their ransom. The market value of the cars is estimated at $40 million.

Hyndai is proudly unveiling the Blue-Will concept at Detroit Auto Show, a brand new hybrid with a 134 bhp electric motor which can run on batteries for up to 40 miles and can be recharged as a plug-in, and is accompanied by a 1.6 liter V4 with a 152-bhp. The car, whenever it’s released, is expected to be a serious competitor to the Toyota Prius.
