In case you are looking for a good-looking hybrid car then the 2008 LA Auto Show is the place to be and the Honda stand is the place to go to. Make sure you check out the Honda FC Sport while you’re there.

Yes, it’s a hybrid and yes, it’s so good looking I would get one in a flash. The FC Sport is a three-seat car which packs the same V-Flow fuel cell stack and the same electric drivetrain the Honda FCX Clarity has.

Unfortunately we won’t see it soon and maybe we won’t see it at all!

Another day at the LA Auto Show and a brand new car. A brand new coupe model release! I’m talking about the phenomenal Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4! Although it has been initially released in Geneva this year, this is its US launch.

It’s a coupe with a 5.2L V10 engine that will get you from 0 to 60 mph in 4 seconds. It has a lighter transmission than its predecessor and an increased shift time by 40%. It’s also a greener car, its fuel consumption and CO2 emissions having dropped by 18%.

Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini said:

The LP 560-4 is the best example of the Gallardo to date and will be a great contribution to Lamborghini’s future success. The entirely new LP 560-4 Spyder adds another dimension to the Gallardo’s lineage with extreme design language and class-leading performance.

With the LA Auto Show almost ready to start the 2010 Ford Mustang is maybe one of the most expected new releases. And it was released with a Live audience. Ford has rented a hangar at the Santa Monica airport and they have invited Mustang club members for the official unveiling of the 2010 Mustang introduction.

Before the actual unveiling, those that attended the show got a brief Mustang history lesson. From 1964 to 2009 seeing those lined up Mustangs must have been quite fun. Then the 2010 Ford Mustang arrived. We do need to see more details. Arrival dates and pricing could also come in handy. We’ll be expecting the LA Auto Show to reveal a whole lot more details about the new Mustang.

One hot car you should be looking for at this year’s LA Auto Show is the 2009 Porsche Cayman. What’s so hot about this Cayman you ask? Well the new optional dual-clutch transmission for one. The 2.9L boxer will get you 265 hp while the 3.4L flat six will get you 320 hp. The new transmission really pays off in terms of gas consumption. The 2.9L will be able to roll 25.8 mpg and the 3.4L will get you some 25 mpg. So now you want to drive one right? Question is, would really want to drive a Porsche in these harsh economic times?

Well in case you won’t get that electric Mini E you might want to switch to a Cube. And how about a 2010 Nissan CUbe? The third-generation Cube has been launched in Japan, USA and Eurobe. Actual sales will start on November 26th in Japan while the U.S. will get it in spring 2009. If Europe is your favorite continent, the Cube will only make it there in fall 2009. Pricing starts at $14,968 for the 2WD and at $17,433 for the 4WD model. Why would you need 4WD on a car that small anyway?

If you are waiting in line for a 2010 Mercury Milan well then go check it out at the next LA Auto Show. The car might look like a 2010 Ford Fusion because, well, they are similar.

The 2010 Milan will get you a new 2.5L four-cylinder which will come up with 175 hp. The 3.0L V6 will get you 65 hp more for a total of 240 hp. The 3.5L V6 will only be available with the Ford Fusion Sport, so go check out the new 2010 Fusion while you’re in LA. Maybe that’s the car you want.

Dr. Friederich Eichiner,a board member of BMW, has unveiled the Mini E live at a press event in Beverly Hills, California. You will be able to see it for yourself at the LA Auto Show which is going to start in a couple of days.

Only 500 units electric Minis will be sold in Southern California and in New York City starting January. The Mini E has an electric drive and battery packs made by California’s AC Propulsion. You will get a range of about 125 to 150 miles out of those 35 kWh packs and you as for acceleration you will get from 0 to 60 in about 8.5 seconds.

How do you get one? Well you will have to register for one on the custom made site that’s going to be released in the next few days and then hope to be one of the chosen one. The lease is just $850 per month after that.

The tire in the picture is based on a polymeric web developed by the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Wausau, Wis. It’s a 37-inch bullet and bomb-proof tire that looks exactly like a honeycomb. Only without the honey.

The tire requires no air to support the armor and to support an IED attack. In case you aren’t working in the military you won’t be needing these tires this winter. But the idea is pretty cool itself. The design is based on airless tires like the Michelin “Tweel” but it is also based on the pattern found in the honeycomb.

The tires will arrive sometime in 2011 and the cost will be similar tp current units.

This will probably be quite a change for Audi’s top trim cars, the next S5 generation won’t have a V8 engine anymore. It will be replaced by a 329-horsepower supercharged V6. An Audi spokesperson said ”Not only does this new engine get nearly the same horsepower and more torque, but the fuel efficiency with the V6T improves by 30 percent over the V8.”

As rumors go, the same thing will happen to the V10 engines, which will be replaced by twin-turbo 4.2l V8 engines.

If you can hardly wait to get your hands on this car and have your first drive test, then it’s good news for you! Fortunately you don’t have to wait that long! Supposedly it’s going to be out there Q1 2009!

The 2010 Chevy Camaro RS hasn’t even hit dealers yet and already snapshots like the one you see above have been taken of it.

Apparently, senior editor Joe Wiesenfelder for the Cars.com blog took the above shot with his Blackberry when he spotted the car at a Detroit gas station.

Sure it looks cool, but will the futuristic look appeal to American-muscle-heads? I guess we will see when this thing goes on sale closer to 2010.

Chrysler’s gas saving cards were way cooler before the economic crisis. Back when the gas was priced at $4 per gallon for fuel a $2.99 per gallon for three years was a good incentive to purchase a Chrysler.

But now, when gas has reached a low $2.15 per gallon price, the card is useless. There’s not pretty much you can do with it now, is it? Not that we’re hoping that the gas price will rise above $2.99 again, but some people out there are getting no savings for the cars they purchased.

Do you have tons of tiny tiny things you cannot survive without? Do they fill up your pockets all the time? That’s not a reason to give them up, right? Especially since I am talking about your most precious gadgets. Don’t you just hate it when you’re in the car and you want to switch your iPod song, change your GPS config settings but your phone is ringing, and all of this is happening at the same time? It is the Nissan 370Z. And it was ‘unleashed’ into the world this week before the LA Auto Show to a small group of chosen ones. It is an upgraded version of the 370Z. It’s pretty spacious, which you can’t always expect your tiny coupe to be. The 370Z has a 3.7 liter V6 engine and it also has a differential power switch! Which we don’t know what it does

The picture here shows a Ford Fiesta Sedan doing some testing in little old China. The Fiesta Sedan will look like the Verve Concept you might have seen at last year’s Detroit Auto Show. Mazda 2 will appear to be similar but hey, certain cars happen to end up looking the same all the time. Well then will we see the new Fiesta at next year’s Detroit Auto Show and then we’ll talk some more. Do we like it so far? Well no we don’t! Not with all those clothes on it!

Although not officially out, the rumor that the Prius will be produced States-side only in 2011 is spreading around the blogs. Japan’s Nikkei Business Daily has announced that Toyota might not be interested in getting the U.S. Prius production up yet. Due to the current world situation Toyota has seen its projected profit drop some 63% so it’s understandable that its executives are trying to cut down costs.

While waiting for Toyota to make up its mind we can direct you to the next Detroit Auto Show which will give you a preview of the next 2010 Prius. We’ll talk some more in January after the motor show.

The car industry is still going strong for survival. Production cuts, employees being fired, asking the government for some billion dollars, you name it. The car manufacturers will do anything needed to cut losses. Ford isn’t an exception and people say that Ford is going to launch an employee pricing promotion from November 19 to January 5th. You will be paying the lowest price possible for your new Ford. And since GM is running its Red Tag Sales Event you’ll probably end up with a new cheaper car this Christmas.

In case you own a 2009 CC Passat you might be interested in what we have to say. It looks like the model has some steering problems. That’s why the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a recall of the 2009 Volkswagen Passat, Passat Wagons and CCs recently sold.

What’s the problem you ask? It looks like there’s a damaged capacitor which means the “steering input is not properly addressed.” 130 cars have been recalled and these haven’t been involved in any accidents. In case you own one, go get it fixed.
