Here’s a 65,000 truck going at 50 mph right into a barrier — the kind which surrounds military installations. Guess who wins?

This might be one of the most interesting things GM is working on, a HUD which fills the whole windscreen, which offers lots of cools stuff, even argumented reality features.

The US State of Virginia raised some of its speed limits to 70 MPH, and now car navigation maker TomTom has compiled a nice map to show the different speed limits in each state.
This might be one of the weirdest highway “accidents” in a while: a truck, a high speed, apparently doesn’t see the car it’s pushing ahead of it. At all.

Car bog Jalopnik has compiled a nice list of the top ten most expensive cars to insure today. From bottom up, it’s the Jaguar XKR, which cost $2500 a year to insure, all the way yo the number one spot, the Porsche 911 GT2, which costs almost $3000 a year. We’re surprised there weren’t any Ferrairs or Lambos on the list though.

BMW’s performance division, known as M division has created an unlikely creature for someone of their caliber: a bicycle. The bike, as you can see above, is styled quite well and bears the “M” emblem. Other than that, it features a standard aluminum frame, Shimano gears and whatever you might expect. The bike will be made in limited quantities and sold at BMW dealers.

Lynch Hummer, a St. Louis based Hummer franchise, was previously known for opening a gun store inside their Hummer showroom for some extra revenue to make up for lost Hummer sales. Now it’s offering a free shotgun, a “The Browning Citori White Lightning”, which is $2000, with each Hummer purchase.

California has taken the first step against Toyota’s trouble, and has become the first state to take legal action against the carmaker. California District Attorney Tony Rackauckas has filed a suit against Toyota, alleging that they sold cars they knowingly knew were faulty. They’re looking for compensation in the tune of $2,500 per vehicle, should Toyota be found guilty.

According to a new report, British sportscar maker Aston Martin is considering to introduce a custom vehicle program for customers. Apparently, Aston Martin gained a lot of experience building the One-77, which is not a production-line vehicle, and will now be able to build anything they want, provided the customer has enough imagination and a lot, lot of money.

Mercedes’ performance division at AMG have unveiled a new engine which will power most of its performance cars in the future: the 5.5 liter biturbo V8, which will, from now on, be the replacement for the large 6+ liter AMG engines that used to be seen in AMG Mercedes cars. The new engine will debut later this year in the 2011 S63 AMG, where it will produce 563 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque, while delivering 22.4 mpg — an improvement across the board from the previous 6.2 liter AMG engine.
