The Citroen Revolte concept car has been approved for production. It will be given the name DS2, which is odd, because they already have a DS3. (Kind of a step backwards, don’t you think?) Anyway, expect this one to be on the road by 2011.

Mazda has just announced that their B-segment Mazda2 will come to the North American market sometime late next year. Considering that it has been on sale in Europe for the past two years, most people would probably be saying: “it’s about time”. Details are sketchy at this time, but this Mazda2 will we be seen at the upcoming LA Auto Show.

Mazda is set to unveil a small car at the coming LA Auto Show with the expected unveiling of the 2011 Mazda2. The new car is expected to adhere towards the growing demand for smaller and fuel efficient vehicles in North America. Aside from the Mazda2, other vehicle models are expected to be shown off with the likes of the Mazda3, Mazda5, Mazda6, MX-5 and RX-8 also set to be unveiled next month. The Mazda2 is set to be offered in the U.S. and Canada later in 2010.

Bob Lutz has recently announced that the Cadillac CTS-V wagon will see the light of a production day. The CTS-V will have 556 supercharged horsepower, rear-wheel drive, and five doors. I’m not certain when it will be available, but let’s shoot for 2011.

De Tomaso lives again as a wealthy Italian industrialist named Gian Mario Rossingnolo has purchased a Pininfarina factory, presumably to build new De Tamasos. Rumor has it that Rossingnolo is planning on a making a luxury sedan, a coupe, and an SUV. Well, we will see them at the Geneva Motor show come next year.

It’s weird to think that dealers cannot keep the Saab in stock, but this is what is happening. Part of it has to do with the sale of Saab to Koenigsegg Automotive AB, not to mention the new Saab ready to hit the market in quite a few years. So, will this make the price of Saabs go up or down? There is a rumor going on that Prius was working on some sort of sport wagon or even an SUV. Considering the Hybrid X (photo above) was shown off at the Geneva Motor Show way back 2007, then it would appear that Toyota has been working on this hybrid SUV or wagon for quite a while. Of course, Toyota is not commenting on this development.

Ford has recently announced that it plans to build a Police Interceptor. It will arrive in 2011, and will be based on the rear-drive Australian-market Ford Falcon that you see here. Full specs of the vehicle will be disclosed in 2010, but it was quite a surprise that it was announced in the first place.

Last night at the Palladium, GM made a grand announcement. They unveiled the 2011 Buick Regal, and Bob Lutz has some great things to say. Like “Buick was cool. Bust somehow, somehow we let that slip”. Apparently, the Regal will change things, maybe.

It looks like Porsche Cars North America is set to unveil a third member for its Boxster line with the 2011 Spyder. The 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder is all set to make its debut at the LA Auto Show on December 2, 2009 for a selling price of $61,200. Among the striking features of the 2011 Spyder include a 3.4 liter engine, 320HP, 6 cylinder motor with direct fuel injection and a suspension that has been lowered to 20mm.

It will also be sporting a lightweight frame thanks to aluminum doors and interior door panels which weigh less than 176 lbs. It also gets 10 more horsepower as well than the S. Other than that, all other questions in mind should be answered once it makes its formal debut at the LA Auto Show so be sure not to miss it!

Now that we just finished SEMA 2009, it is time to focus on the next Auto Show in LA. A photo of Toyota’s 2011 Sienna minivan has been spotted, and it will appear next month at the LA Auto Show.

Rumor has it that the van will be part of Toyota’s MC platform which is normally reserved for the Camry, Highlander, RAV4, Venza, and even the Prius. I suppose we will see more come next month at the LA Convention Center.

Toyota has finally decided that the Scion is worthy of the land of Canada. By September 2010, the Scion will be available in 45 dealerships in the country including Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver.

Oh, that’s pretty good, eh? We finally got the Scion up here, eh? All right, enough with the Canadian jokes and let us hope the great lands up north will enjoy the Scion.

What you see above is the recently announced Dodge Challenger set to race in the 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series. The car will actually race in 4 different races in the 2010 series; Daytona, Michigan, Richmond and Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

As you can see, Dodge Motorsports made it very easy to tell the vehicle is based on the Challenger, keeping the front of the car looking very production like.

What you see there is the concept 2009 Honda Skydeck, which we may never see. Something that we might see is some more hybrids from Honda. Supposedly the company is working on “developing its proprietary Integrated Motor Assist hybrid platform so that it can once again be used to power larger vehicles like the Accord”.

There is even a rumor saying that Honda wants to put this hybrid power into a minivan before 2011. We will see.
