BMW to Offer Stop System for Medical Emergencies?

BMW is apparently working on a new stop system ready to come to life in case of various medical emergencies. The system will be most welcomed for senior citizens that are still driving. Conditions like heart attacks, strokes or diabetes can pose problems to everyone involved in the traffic. The Emergency Stop Assistant will assist you in stopping your car in case of a medical emergency.
The system is still in the experimental phase and it’s supposed to sense medical problems. When a problem is detected then the system will automatically switch to an autonomous driving mode which will bring the vehicle to a safe stop. The system will work with the Extended Emergency Call system and the emergency services should be on their way to the location of the vehicle. These features are currently being tested in Germany and other car manufacturers should definitely consider offering similar features.
