It’s a nice conflict we’re getting here. BBC has decided apparently to respond Tesla’s allegations regarding the Top Gear show in which Clarkson and the gang claimed the Roadster was not performing as one should have expected. If you remember the electric supercars have stopped because of a fuse and/or lack of appropriate power. The presenters made sure the audience got every bit of that.
In an unexpected turn of events BBC told everyone what happened. The scene where Top Gear’s crew was pushing the Tesla inside a garage was just a screen play that was followed by everyone. The car still had power to run on but BBC said that the scene was filmed to show us what would happen when the battery would have been depleted. Awkwardly BBC also states that “Top Gear stands by the findings in this film and is content that it offers a fair representation of the Tesla’s performance on the day it was tested.”
Well that’s unfortunate. It’s almost close to lying and it will change the way we look at Top Gear from now on. I mean sure we know not everything that happens during the show is actually genuine, but claiming that an electric car ran out of fuel when in fact it didn’t is simply wrong. They could have mentioned it was all a demo of a worse case scenario of some sort and all of that during the same show.
