MBGLK_Web.jpgStuttgart – Mercedes-Benz launches an innovative Web Special www.mercedes-glk.com to promote the debut of its new GLK compact SUV.

The special features an interactive music video that users can help to design, as well as a “GLK Backstage” section for discussions with the engineers who created the new model. Just as the GLK is setting new trends in the SUV world, so too will the GLK Web Special open up new possibilities for user interaction in online marketing.

Lincoln MKS to debut Ford’s EcoBoost

LincolnMKS2.jpgFord’s EcoBoost engine technology uses gasoline turbocharged direct-injection technology to deliver up to 20 percent better fuel economy. With gasoline prices rising, that 20 percent can quickly add up to hundreds of dollars remaining in customers’ wallets.

Using an average fuel price of $3.25 a gallon and estimated 15,000 miles driven, an EcoBoost V-6 engine will save customers about $340 a year in fuel costs compared with driving a V-8.

Ford engineeering Flex for minimal road noise

Flex_Wind.jpgDEARBORN, Mich. -- When customers take their new Ford Flex for its first spin this summer, they may be surprised by what's missing: the noise.

Flex delivers a quieter ride than competitors including the Acura MDX, Toyota Highlander and GMC Acadia, according to Ford tests. That's good news for customers, who tend to directly relate a vehicle's quietness with its quality, says Derrick Kuzak, Ford's group vice president of Global Product Development. "Quietness is a very good proxy for quality in a vehicle."

2009 Ford Focus Coupe Appearing on American Idol

2009 Audi A4: choice of two smoking engines

AudiA409.jpgThe new A4 is being launched with two gasoline engines. The 3.2 FSI is a V6 with 265 hp. The newly developed four-cylinder 2.0 TFSI is available with 211 hp.

With these engines, Audi is once again extending its lead in engine design – using the gasoline direct injection technology known as FSI, which is superior to anything offered by the competition.

2009 Cadillac CTS-V breaks record on famed track

CTS-V_Nurburgring.jpgIn testing this morning at Germany's Nurburgring, Cadillac's upcoming new 2009 CTS-V completed a lap of the legendary Nordschleife in 7:59.32. This blistering time appears to be the fastest ever publicly documented for a production sedan.

Cadillac is nearing the completion of testing of the highly anticipated CTS-V, the limited-edition high-performance model based on the award-winning CTS sport sedan.

Toyota announces price increase for 2009 Camry

TORRANCE, Calif. -- Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., announced new manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRP) for the 2009 Camry, effective mid- to late May 2008.

The only 2009 model year Toyota vehicle to receive a price adjustment is the Toyota Camry. The gas model increases $200 or 0.9 percent and carries a new base MSRP of $18,920. The hybrid model, which was introduced as a 2007 model in late 2006, increases by $300 or 1.1 percent and carries a new base MSRP of $25,650.

Toyota MSRPs do not include a delivery, processing and handling (DPH) fee of $660 for passenger cars and $685 for light trucks. DPH fee for vehicles distributed by Southeast Toyota (SET) and Gulf States Toyota (GST) may vary.

TORRANCE, Calif. -- Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., announced new manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRP) for the 2008 Yaris, effective mid- to late May 2008.

The base MSRP for 2008 Yaris sedan will receive a new price of $12,425, an increase of $200, or 1.6 percent. The 2008 Yaris liftback will list a new base MSRP of $11,550, an increase of $200, or 1.7 percent. The MSRP for the 2008 Prius will carry a new base price of $21,500, an increase of $400, or 1.8 percent.

Toyota MSRPs do not include a delivery, processing and handling (DPH) fee of $660 for passenger cars and $685 for light trucks. DPH fee for vehicles distributed by Southeast Toyota (SET) and Gulf States Toyota (GST) may vary.

Nissan GT-R Sold Out in US, Attracts 1,500 Europe Pre-Orders

Selected dealers across Europe began taking orders on 2nd April, with on-line orders starting two days later. Since then the 56 nominated High Performance Dealers across Europe have already taken a year’s supply of orders in one month. Nine hundred and fifty orders for GT-R have been taken in the UK alone.

2009 Dodge Journey Crossover Wins 'Family Car of Texas' Award

More than 60 vehicles from various manufacturers entered the event, all vying for a top award from 40 of the TAWA journalists on hand.

"With 61 vehicles competing in various categories, the new Dodge Journey is the worthy recipient of our first Family Car of Texas award. The many storage options had several of our members remarking, 'Finally a place for all my stuff!" said Harold Gunn, TAWA President.
