Volvo enthusiasts gather in Gothenburg

Volvo_Gothenburg.jpgComing up this weekend is this summer's VROM - the Volvo Rendezvous for Owners & Members, when Volvo enthusiasts from all over Europe flock to Gothenburg.

VROM is a three-day event for owners and fans of classic Volvos. It has been held in Gothenburg situated on the Swedish west coast every year since 1987.

VROM 2008 runs from 8 to 10 August. This year's participants will be visiting the Aeroseum musem in Säve, the Volvo Cars Brand Experience Centre, Volvo Cars Demo Centre, Volvo Museum and Stora Holm Test Area.

120 Volvo owners have registered to take part in the veteran car rally on Saturday 9 August, with the route taking in the islands of Tjörn and Orust, then back to Gothenburg. And on Sunday the 10th, hundreds of older Volvos will gather outside the Volvo Museum in Arendal, Hisingen, for the concours and a big spare parts market.

Among the models registered so far are the PV56, PV444, PV 544, Duett, Amazon, 142, 144, 145, 240/245, 242 Turbo, 245 Turbo, 262C, 780, 760, 1800S, 1800ES, 855 T-5R, 945, S70/V70, S90/V90, and the Indigo 3000.

The registered participants this year will be coming from Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Lithuania, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland.
