Chrysler Dealers Sponsor Downtown Hoedown in Detroit

DETROIT -- The world's largest free Country Music Concert is set to heat up Hart Plaza the weekend of May 9 - 11, 2008 in the heart of Downtown Detroit with the help of title sponsor Chrysler Jeep Superstores.

This year's Downtown Hoedown, the 26th anniversary of the event, brings superstars Jewel, Josh Gracin, Little Big Town, Trisha Yearwood, Lonestar, Gretchen Wilson and a jam-packed lineup of many other country favorites to Downtown Detroit for three days of music, food and family fun.

The event marks the beginning of an entire season of summertime fun events sponsored by Chrysler Jeep Superstores.

"Chrysler Jeep Superstores are especially happy to be a major part of another great weekend in downtown Detroit as title sponsors for the 2008 Downtown Hoedown," Chrysler Jeep Superstores Advertising Association President Jim Schebil said.

"It's great to support exciting and fun-filled family entertainment events in the summer. We are already starting preparations as the title sponsor for the 100th running of the unlimited hydroplane "Gold Cup" races on the Detroit River July 11-13," added Schebil. "We're also sponsoring the 84th running of the Bayview to Mackinac boat race during that same time frame, and we are the title sponsor of the Thunder Over Michigan airshow August 9 & 10 to benefit the Yankee Air Museum."

Further details of the Hoedown Lineup and special guests are available at 99.5 WYCD Detroit's Best Country Web site at www.wycd.com .

The Detroit Downtown Hoedown was established in 1983 and is widely recognized as the largest Country Music show of its kind in the world.
