One ecstatic Subaru Outback owner shares his experience

Editor's note: John Carver, an extremely satsified Subaru customer and Car Buyer's Notebook reader, forwarded us this letter he sent to the carmaker's headquarters, wherein he describes his appreciation for his new Sube. We're sharing it because, well, read for yourself:
Gentlemen and women,
We purchased a 2006 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited eight months ago and are very happy to make this report. Outstanding is the best description I have. My wife and I get excited about it every time it is driven.
Just recently we were out of town at a restaurant overlooking the Mississippi river in the beautiful little village of Lansing, Iowa. And on our exit we noticed an older couple engrossed by the Outback. As we approached they asked if we were the owners and of course we proudly said yes. They were both taken aback by its color (champagne gold opal) and the styling both inside and out.
It was also stated the interior was superior to the American luxury car they were driving. I told the gentleman about the boxer engine, the AWD, great gas mileage, and no doubt more than he wanted to hear. However, he said he was going to rent one for a trip now and if he liked it would probably buy one.
We had a prior exchange with an attorney and a professional hair dresser who had just seen the car for the first time that same day. They both were quite exclamatory about the car's attributes and that the Subaru had really caught their eyes. We have had other numerous admiring glances at home and elsewhere on the road. It makes us feel we really have something special.
Driving the car is always a thrill. We feel extremely safe in its enclosure as well as comfortable. My wife, who thought we didn't need the leather, heated seats, moon roof, dual zone heating and cooling, and so forth, is very glad we made those purchases. She loves the heated seats and feels it is like a massage underway. I found that my arthritic knee and associated muscle pulls are relaxed with the seat.
Other mentionables include the huge moon roof which is one of the larger ones on the market. Gas mileage is more than satisfactory at 27-34 mpg. I am continually amazed at the power and spunk of the boxer engine. It accelerates very well and is comfortable at higher speeds. There have been no maintenance issues. The AWD is superior in every way. No doubt I have forgotten something but as you can see we are more than pleased with this purchase.
Keep up the great work it takes to produce this fine automobile. It is every bit on par or above any car made today.
