Miss America, Nissan Back MADD to Save Lives
Jennifer Berry, Miss America for 2006, has made working with Mothers Against Drunk Driving the cornerstone of her reign's platform, based on the experience of losing a high school friend to a drunk driving accident, according to information from MADD.
Automaker Nissan is also kicking in to raise awareness about the perils of drunk driving, by sponsoring Strides for Change, a multi-city 5K charity walk that will have inaugural events on April 22 in Dallas, Phoenix and Raleigh. Other cities will host their walks through October of this year.
Folks despite all the goofy and irreverent verbiage we shovel here at the Notebook, there's nothing funny about drunk driving, ever.
