Alabama Mercedes Workers Trying to Unionize

A union organizing drive is afoot at Mercedes' Tuscaloosa, Alabama manufacturing plant, according to the Washington Times.

Opened ten years ago, the plant that makes the M-Class, R-Class and GL-Class SUVs has 3,000 workers who are not organizing for better wages than the up to $30 they're making, but to have a voice, according to the article.

The effort is not coming from the United Auto Workers [UAW] but from the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers [IAM].
