Toyota's Getting a Lot of Mileage Out of Hybrids

The photo of this Toyota billboard is dated as I write this, and will be even more so by the time you read it. Toyota installed this running counter of gallons saved to give people an idea of how much they've been helping the environment by buying the Prius.
As we pointed out in this post, Toyota has a virtual version of the billboard at a Hybrid Synergy Drive minisite you can access through this link.
When we took this screenshot around 1 p.m. on Sunday, it had already passed 100 million gallons saved. Toyota figures the number by the number of Priuses on the road, times approximate miles driven, and comparing extimated fuel efficiency to other cars people might be driving. In other words, there's a lot of blue sky figuring going on.
Letting our fingers do the googling, we found yet another Synergy Drive website, which you can find here. You can follow the instructions to assemble a big PDF of info about Toyota's hybrid systems, or you can right-click on this link and download the one we made. All 18.8 MB of it.
