If the Car Fits, Honda May Build it In U.S.
Honda will be selling a new subcompact here in the States early in 2006, ostensibly to be named the Fit, though it is known as the Jazz in the UK and Australia.
Slated for sale between 13K and 15K, the Fit slots in underneath the Civic, and is part of a multi-company gamble that Americans are ready to slim down en masse into small cars. Also joining the party of are the Nissan Versa, the Toyota Yaris and possibly, the Mitsubishi Colt.
If the company sells enough of the Fits, they intend to build them here.
