The 2010 Ford Fusion and the Mercury Milan are going to get new powertrains. You’ll be able to choose from a new 2.5L four-cylinder, a 3.0L V6 and a 3.5L V6
The latest revision of Ford’s hybrid powertrain will end up inside your future Fusion Hybrid or Milan Hybrid next year. The powertrain is lighter and less expensive to produce. It’s also more powerful. It uses the same nickel-metal hybrid batteries. The battery pack is 30% smaller in volume than the Escape Hybrid’s pack and it weighs 23% less. The new battery pack uses it’s own AC system to keep things cool. The new hybrid will get you 38 mpg in the city or 5 mpg more than its competitor, the Toyota Camry Hybrid.
