The DBD Volante from Aston Martin makes its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. This new drop-top will line up alongside the V12 Vantage and new Lagonda luxury saloon, giving show goers a triple treat of fresh metal.

Described by Aston Martin as the “the ultimate open air motoring experience”, the DBS Volante gets the same mighty 6.0-litre V12 as the coupe and stunning looks with a fabric hood that closely follows the silhouette of the coupe.

Capable of dropping at the touch of a button in just 14 seconds and at up to speeds of 30mph, the roof automatically stows under a re–sculpted tonneau cover, which maintains the slick look of the coupe. And as you can see, all the styling cues from the storming DBS coupe are carried across.

Toyota has added another twist to its popular car brand line Innova. Traditionally we all know the Toyota Innova to run on gas and diesel fuel but today, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) introduced the Innova CNG in India.

“Toyota is an environment conscious company committed to the cause of nurturing and protecting nature in its myriad forms. With CNG having established itself as an eco-friendly, reliable and economic fuel, TKM is pleased to announce India’s first ever energy efficient MPV in India. The CNG Innova will be priced at around Rs 85000 higher than the current petrol version.

Don’t be surprised to find a new pickup at the Melbourne Motor Show which sports the logo of Volkswagen. If you do, then perhaps you have stumbled upon the new Volkswagen Pickup Concept which is bound to give other familiar pickups like the Hi-Lux and Navara a run for their money.

The Pickup concept previews the full production model that is currently in development. The 5.18 metre long concept vehicle is not based on any current model VW, but will feature the latest generation of highly advanced, torque strong, fuel saving common-rail turbo-diesels (TDI).

“The Volkswagen Pickup will certainly be a welcome and exciting fourth addition to our expanding range of light commercial vehicles,” commented Phil Clark, Director of Volkswagen Group Australia Commercial Vehicles. “Being the only premium European offering a product in the 1 tonne segment is a great opportunity for Volkswagen. The German government is reportedly ready to bailout General Motor Euprope’s Opel with a whopping five billion euros to shore up the company and as a last resort take a temporary stake of no more than 20 percent.

The rescue plan was required by German authorities before any public aid could be granted to Opel, which has been hit by a global auto slump and massive financial problems at its troubled US parent General Motors.

GM employs around 55,000 workers in Europe, including almost 26,000 at Opel.

Opel would repay any state aid by 2014-2015, he said.

The new Lexus RX 450H will officially make its European Debut at the Geneva Motor Show which will reportedly become available this summer. The Lexus RX 450h has made headlines for its impressive fuel economy and reduced environmental impact as it possesses the performance figures that outpace the majority of other SUV/crossovers within its segment.

The RX 450h emits just 0.53 lbs of CO2 emissions per mile driven, which remains significantly lower than many other vehicles. Combined fuel economy stands at 44.8 mpg, which is a 28% increase over the older RX 400h.

Powering the RX 450h is a series/parallel hybrid system which links a 3.5-liter V-6 engine with two powerful electric motors. The RX 450h uses an “intelligent” four-wheel drive system, and total power output is rated at 295 hp. The 0 to 62 mph time measures at 7.8 seconds, and the top speed registers at 124 mph.

What would you do if it were up to you? Would you add $21 billion for GM and Chrysler considering they have received already $17 billion in government loans? According to a Gallup poll released yesterday, 72% of Americans say no to another loan. That’s an impressive percentage. More Democrats than Republicans favor additional loans although the majority in both groups is opposed to the idea.

Only 51% of Americans believe that the Big Three will survive which is 6% less than in December. So what will President’s Obama auto task force do? Will they offer more funds to GM or Chrysler, or are we to see these two filing for bankruptcy in the near future?

What you see in the above video is what he calls the DC Cruiser. The DC Cruiser is a 1936 Chevy Sedan stripped bare and redone with a 10-inch electric motor attached to the transmission.
