The 2009 GMC Acadia is one of those big family-sized SUV’s that may well be the next generation of dinosaurs, depending on how gasoline price volatility and GM’s future as an automaker all shake down in the coming months. The eight-passenger behemoth offers a 2nd-row bench seat in place of buckets, and will transport a crowd of kids comfortably and quietly, even if they are all teenagers. Available safety equipment includes ABS, traction control, antiskid system, front side airbags, and curtain side airbags.
Available features include a “skyscape” dual sunroof with a large tilt and slide front panel and a fixed rear glass skylight. The fuel efficiency averages out at right around 17 MPG, which actually is better than what you might expect for an SUV this large and the available options go on forever. A base model will run you $29,817 and a fully loaded top-end model closer to $38,000.
