2009 Audi Q7 – A Safe Ride
The 2009 Audi Q7 was named one of the fifteen safest cars in America by Fortune Magazine. While the combined EPA rating of the large SUV is an unimpressive 15 MPG, the safety features are substantial, and include driver and passenger head-restraint whiplash protection; front side airbags for chest and pelvis protection; and energy-absorbing padding under the instrument panel to protect feet and legs. The Q7 is exactly the kind of all-purpose family car that was so wildly popular before gasoline prices breached $4.50 in 2008. Will families continue to buy such cars now that gasoline prices are under $2 per gallon again?
Large cars can be very safe cars, but with America’s energy future so volatile, it remains to be seen whether they will weather the current economic storm. The Audi Q7 comes with all the trim and high end options you would expect on any Audi, and has an MSRP of $43,500 to $59,200.
