A couple of weeks ago Ferrari tried something different from the usual presentations, and officially unveiled one of their new beasts on the internet.
It was on September 18 that the Ferrari California GT was first seen on the web, at www.ferraricalifornia.com. The website is still online, and you have access to the following video content: backstage construction scenes, factory located in Maranello, and other goodies.

With the current (poor) state of the economy on the USA, where is the best place to sell an expensive Rolls-Royce? In Asia, more specifically in China, Japan, and India.
How can we be sure those are the best spots?
1. Because sales went up by 50% in Asia, when compared to last year.
2. Instead of 4 showrooms in Asia Pacific, there are now 17.
3. From all the 1,010 cars sold worldwide by Rolls-Royce during 2007, about 200 were bought in Asia.
By the way, the preferred model is the Phantom that costs close to $985,000. Taking in consideration that 85% of car is pure luxury, it doesn’t look that expensive, or does it?

A couple of expensive cars like Ferrari’s and Lamborghini’s come with an easy solution for customization, also known as One-to-One personalization program. While this “feature” was ready to be used in past Ferrari models, like the 612 Scaglietti, it wasn’t until the announcement made today that the 599 GTB Fiorano joins the list.
As the name of the program suggests, the personalization is made by thinking of each customer as an unique one.

The VW Jetta TDI is quite the car you might need for the current gas prices. And we have a story to prove exactly that. It looks like a Jetta managed to enter the Guinness World Record for traversing the lower 48 U.S. states while returning 58.82 mpg. That great wouldn’t you say?
John and Helen Taylor traveled 9,419 miles in 20 days. They were driving within 5 mph of the speed limit. The Jetta consumed just 11 tanks of ultra low sulfur diesel gas and averaged 853 miles per tank. Can anyone beat that? Congratulations to the Taylors for the unprecedented performance anyway.

Peugeot decided to celebrate their appearance on the 2008 Le Mans race, by producing 2,000 special units of the Peugeot 207 HDi.
Unsurprisingly, this special version will include unique features that can’t be seen on any other Peugeot, like the Le Mans Series logos located on the tailgate, and the Peugeot logo on the doors.
As for the engine on the car, it is a 1.6HDi that comes with a Diesel Particle Filter System, which surely helps the fuel consumption be low – just 4.8 liters per 100km.

Volvo is apparently working on a new C30 model for Europe. It seems to be a 300 horspower C30 AWD version for the European market.
It’s said to sport the same engine that Ford Focus RS has, a 2.5 liter inline-five cylinder turbo engine. The new C30 will have a Haldex all-wheel drive system, large 20 inch wheels and a special body kit to lower the whole car.
From what we’ve heard so far only about 4,500 units will be made worldwide so stay informed in order not to miss it.

Dodge has a new incentive program for Germany. It will offer discounts for certain car models to pregnant moms. That’s right, if you are a German woman and you want to buy a new Dodge car or minivan, all you have to do is present your pregnancy proof for the discount.
If you are a man and want to get the same discount you should either get you or your wife pregnant. In 20 years from now that will turn into an interesting table conversation with your kids and their girl/boyfriends.
Getting back to Germany Dodge, that’s quite an interesting marketing idea considering that Germany’s birth rate is kind of getting lower and lower. Head on over to a Dodge dealership to ask for more details.

So when’s the last time you bothered to drive a Miata? Would you get on board of the new 2010 Mazda MX-5 Miata? We don’t really have an official press release just yet for you but the images of the Miata did leak. Sure there are some changes expected everywhere but it does feel like a Miata, wouldn’t you say? The same 166 horsepower 2.0 liter engine together with the new looks are expected to make you want to test drive the new version. What do you think of the new Miata?

Here’s a car that I shall never drive. And by shall I mean not anytime soon of course. The new Mercedes-Benz SLR is breath taking. It’s called the MMercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster 722 S. Just in case you need to order one, you’d better have the whole name written down.
The 722 S. will carry inside a 5.5 liter V8 which will deliver 650 horsepower and 627lbs.-ft. of torque. There’s a five speed automatic gearbox with selectable shifting characteristics which will get you to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds. You’ll reach 124 mph in 10.6 seconds and the top speed is 208 mph.
Only 150 722 S. will be created so in case I won’t start collecting a protection fee or something I won’t be able to get one. But you might have enough of those much needed euros to get a copy of the fresh SLR right?

Paris is almost around the corner and we’re looking forward to see all the new releases. Two interesting cars I am particularly going to look for are the Lamborghini Estoque or Urus and the Citroen GT. We’ve been following their teasers and we definitely need to see more.

The new 2009 S3 from Audi has just been announced earlier last week. The 2009 version will come either the three-door style or the five-door hatch. The S3 will get a 2 liter turbo engine which will get you about 265 horsepower and 258 lbs.-ft. of torque. The new seven-speed twin clutch S-tronic gearbox will contribute to all that power and speed, wouldn’t you say?
The S3 will get you from 0-60 in 5.5 seconds and as for gas it will get you 30 mpg.
Now let’s check some prices shall we? The new gearbox will cost you an extra £1,450 or $2,621 if you’re planning to replace the standard transmission. The tree-door version will cost £28,920 or $52,284 while the five-door will cost you £29,420 or $53,188. Unfortunately the car is available in Europe only for now.

This Lamborghini Reventon is the car that everyone dreams of owning, don’t you think? It has the good looks, the good power, and much more. Sadly there were only 20 units made, and I bet this was the only one that was for sale.
The story is pretty simple: someone bought a Reventon and used it to drive for 73 miles. After that “small” distance the driver got bored (or maybe got scared because of gas prices) and decided to sell it on the internet via eBay with the starting price at $1.45M. The Buy-It-Now price was set for $2,5M but we actually don’t know the exact value it was sold for. Sad story? Depressing? Yes.
As for the Reventon details: a 6.5L V12 Engine, 660 HP, and a maximum speed of 211mph.
Conclusion: sometimes it is better to buy a cheap car…
The car features all LED and Xenon headlights which is a first in the automotive industry.

Audi AG has worked in cooperation with Real Madrid since 2003 and with Milan since 2007, but in the past week they’ve taken one step further by “offering” new models to the soccer stars.
Players like Ronaldinho, Shevchenko, Ruud van Nistelroy, Kaká, and many others, had the opportunity to pick the cars in a free manner, and the final decisions were pretty good: Audi Q7 for Ronaldinho, Audi S5 for van der Vaart, Audi R8 for Sneijder and Kaká, etc…
If you could pick an Audi car for free, just like the soccer players did, which one would it be?
