No, not really. But if someone told me it was true, judging by the above picture, I would believe it. Of course, then again judging by the looks of the car, I wouldn’t even believe it came equipped with a dashboard as rediculous as this.

Sure the car is electric, sure the car gets good gas mileage, sure the dashboards finish LOOKS nice, but can the button layout be anymore cluttered?

I mean, the model this is a picture of is so prerelease it probably doesn’t even work, but here goes to hoping Chevy’s design team works on the dashboard a little bit more before this thing hits the streets sometime in 2010!

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. GM has recently announced that they wil begin offering an early retirement plan to 28% of their 32,000 strong U.S. workforce in hopes of cutting down yearly spending.

The 9,000 offered the incentive will have 45 days to accept the offer, or refuse it of course, and if all goes as planned GM hopes that this will cut down spendings by up to 10 billion dollars.

This could all be blamed on the one thing that we all have in common: rising gas prices. If the gas prices hadn’t risen, people would still be buying those big honkin’ SUVs, that used to be so common, and GM would still be sellin’ good, meaning they wouldn’t have to do things like this. But you all already knew that, right?

Here’s an obvious one that no one cared to think about. Recent findings by scientists studying male fertility have shown that sitting on a heated seat for a given amount of time effectively raises the temperature of your… family jewels by a whole degree Fahrenheit.

What does this mean to you and why should you care? Well, even a slight temperature change of 1 degree is enough to throw off the optimal conditions your nether regions requires to produce grade A sperm.

Of course, unless your participating in the limbo while or immediately after driving, this probably won’t effect you but for those of you who care, take it as you will. Next, please.

All of the most reliable cars are made over seas, right? Well, maybe GM will look a little better in the eye of the consumer now that they will be opening an engine plant in India. Then again, all of the Made in the USA only folk are sure to bicker over this one.

The new engine plant will be located in Talegaon, metaphorically right down the road from their new car plant that is expected to start production next week.

While there was no word on what exactly the capacity is of this new engine plant, it was made known that their new Indian car plant will have an output capacity of 140,000 new vehicles, not too shabby.

Just a small tidbit was released by Ford today regarding their recently revamped 2010 Mustang badge that could be seen by some as a monumental change.

Clearly going for a more “bad-ass” look, Ford will ditch the shiny chrome we’ve all come to know and love for a more smoked out finish. Someome may ask, why is this important enough for Ford to release a press release over? Well, probably because they don’t want Mustang competitors like the Camaro and Challengers to get all the attention.

If you just so happen to drive a Hyunday Elentra you might want to check with your dealer if your piticular car is one of the 65,000 that Hyundai plans to recall.

Don’t worry though, it’s nothing serious like your wheels might fall off on the highway, or your airbags won’t deflate. No, all it is a possibly defective fuel pump which could very well cause obvious problems.

The 65,000 vehicles in question will be 2008 models featuring a 2.0l engine having been produced between Nov. 5th, 2007 and June 28th, 2008.

German car manufacturer, Volkswagen, has recently announced that they have made it into the top 3 car manufacturers globally in terms of sales for the first time, well, ever.

Overtaking the once giant Ford in sales for the first half of the year, Volkswagen is happy that they are moving in the right direction hoping to expand their global presence and once again increase sales. Increasing their whoesales by 7.2% to 3.31 million vehicles, topping Fords 3.22 million.

This is great news for VW, but not so great news for Ford. Maybe this will usher them into releasing some more environmentally friendly cars which seem to be all the rage in leui of rising gas prices. Is this the begining of the end of Ford, or will they be on top once again?

GM’s quest to sell their Hummer brand continues as two interested buyers from the Gulf Arab region raise their hand. But I mean really, would Hummer still hold it’s value if it were manufactured by anyone other than GM?

Not much else other than that has been disclosed at this time. However, in lieu of things, GM has begun writing up sales documents in the hopes of turning the Hummer brand over to another manufacturer.

If however, the deal doesn’t go through it’s no big deal says GM’s Middle East Managing Director Terry Johnsson, as the brand’s fate isn’t set in stone yet. Let us sit back and watch how this dilemma unravels, shall we?

You better put aside a couple more bucks for that brand new BMW you were planning on buying because it was just announced that the 2009 models will get somewhat of a price increase.

The price increase apparently won’t happen worldwide as BMW has only announced that the 2009 USA models that will hit dealers this October will have the 2.1% price increase, with the increase of raw material prices stated as the cause.

This probably doesn’t come as a surprise to most of you BMW heads as they just recently increased the price on their 2008 models in June by about 1%.

In a move that is sure to please soccer moms everywhere, Chrysler has recently announced that they will begin production on 2 Hybrid SUVs utilizing their new Two Mode gasoline-electric hybrid system.

Featured in the new Durango and Aspen hybrids is a 385hp , 5.7l Hemi V8 equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission which has 2 internal electric motors giving the car enough juice to run on electric up to 25mph, and boosting the MPG up to 20.

Of course, it costs money to be environmentally friendly seeing as the Durango is expected to retail for $45,340 and the Aspen for $45,570. Fret not though as Chrysler has assured us that you will probably get a $1,800 tax cut if you buy one of these vehicles. Gee thanks!

The first car manufacturer(s) you think of when you think heavy duty is without a doubt either GM or Ford. Well, that all could change thanks to Nissan.

Nissan has recently announced that they will try to take what Ford and GM has left by producing vehicles to take on the Ford E series, Chevrolet Express, Dodge sprinter and countless other light and medium commercial vehicles developed here in the US of A.

While Nissan isn’t expected to enter the market until 2010, GM and Ford better act fast to secure themselves as the go to for commercial vehicles before another over seas manufacturer takes their consumer base.

Here’s one you probably weren’t expecting. GM has recently release several photos of their brand new 2011 Chevy Cruze, a sedan probably marketed to the more money concious folk.

Supposedly a global release car, the Cruze will come in three different models for you to choose from, all featuring a different engine. A 122hp 1.6l, 140hp 1.8l and a 150hp 2.0l turbo diesel, so you can expect this car to get good gas mileage.

The public will get it’s first real life glimpse of the car this October at the Paris Motor Show before it goes on sale in 2009.

If you’ve been dying to see the latest edition of the Camaro SS, the wait is over. Photos of the brand new 2010 Chevy Camaro SS has hit the internet and, as you can see from the above image, to no dissapointment.

The brand new Camaro SS will feature a 6.2l V8 engine producing around 422 hp and 408lbs of torque. On the inside the SS is a monster, but on the outside not so much. Featuring sleek curves and a very subtle speed demon look, almost similar to that of Ford’s current Mustang line, this car isn’t to be messed with.

Seeing as this is the 2010 Camaro SS, all of you speed-fiends out there can expect this car to hit dealerships sometime next year.

The first thing you think of when you think VW is German right? Well, that all may change very soon.

VW has recently announced that they will be opening a brand new plant in Chattanooga, Tenn. to produce a sedan that will compete with the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. The Passat perhaps?

Frank Fischer, a veteran German VW manager, will be appointed head of the plant when it opens in late 2010.

When the plant is first up and running it will be able to churn out 150,000 new cars per year, not too shabby.

In a move that no one could have predicted, Ford of Canada CEO Barry Engle will leave the company to persue other business ventures.

He will leave the company officially on September 8th but the crazy thing is, he’s only been working for the company for 6 months, starting in Feburary.

Why is Engle leaving Ford of Canada you ask? Well probably because the US economy is doing poorly. According to the press release 9/10 cars made in Canada are sold in the US and with new car sales so low in the states, Ford must be hurting.

And where exactly is Engle going? Well, he’s moving back to Pennsylvania with his wife and six kids to become the president and CEO of New Holland Agricultural Equipment SpA, a job which is probably a little less depending on new car sales.
